TecSalud Nursing has officially obtained the Pathway to Excellence® certification, which recognizes the organization’s commitment to health care.
The certification was granted by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association.
According to Leticia Solís Domínguez, Director of Nursing at TecSalud, this certification is highly valuable for the institution because it supports the development of nursing professionals.
“This is the result of all the effort and determination of TecSalud nurses to create a positive environment, develop all their talents, and transform nursing in Mexico,” said Solís.
There are currently only 204 institutions in the world that hold this certification, and TecSalud is the only organization currently certified in Mexico and Latin America.

Recognizing the importance of nursing
According to the Director of Nursing, a large part of the work done every day in a hospital is undertaken by nursing staff, who are on the front line of patient care.
“Getting this recognition for the work, care, and service that we provide to our patients began in the middle of the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but we did it: we got the Pathway to Excellence® recognition,” she highlighted.
In addition, she added that this international certification is only granted to hospitals which have proven that they value the contributions made by professionals in this area.
“Nurses are key to collaborative decision-making in hospitals; they allow us to improve patient outcomes in terms of quality, safety, and experience.
This certification emphasizes that TecSalud is one of the best places for nurses to grow professionally,” said Solís.
The beginning of a cultural transformation for nursing
Martha Elena Platas, leader of International Nursing Certifications at TecSalud, told CONECTA that the certification focuses on transforming the culture of nursing.
“To gain this international certification, health institutions need to be immersed in a new culture which allows nursing staff work in a positive environment,” Platas said.
She also cited the six standards that form the Pathway to Excellence® certification:
- Shared Decision-Making
- Leadership
- Quality
- Safety
- Professional Development
- Well-Being
