Considerations include personal initiative, support of teaching staff, and ongoing educational innovation.
De la Vega’s career as an educator spans more than three decades, in both the public and private sectors.
“It means a great deal. I am exceedingly honored to receive this award. The AIB is a highly respected, diverse and multicultural community.
“This is not only a recognition of my 30-year career in education, but also of the teamwork we have at Tec de Monterrey,” said De la Vega.
STRATEGY FOR INTERNATIONALIZATION
According to the AIB, De la Vega and his team have implemented an internationalization strategy to increase the global reach and recognition of EGADE Business School and the Tec Business School.
“Teamwork is what really produces results. In this particular case, it resulted in the internationalization strategy,” said the Dean.
Among the most salient programs forming part of this strategy are:
- First Tec bachelor’s degree program taught entirely in English
- Bachelor’s Degree in Global Business

De la Vega will receive the International Educator of the Year Award at the 2020 Annual Meeting of the AIB, to be held in Miami, Florida, from July 2 to 6.
“Tec de Monterrey has a talented community, with transformative students, academics, and collaborators. (...) This recognition belongs to all of them at the Tec and at EGADE,” he concluded.
EGADE Business School belongs to the 1% of business schools worldwide that have what is known as the “triple crown” of international accreditation (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS).
