Isaac Alarcón, an Automotive Design Engineering student at the Tec’s Monterrey campus, is close to fulfilling his dream of joining a professional football team.

The 21-year-old from Monterrey will join the Dallas Cowboys practice team for the 2020 season as part of the league’s international player program, according to a statement by NFL Mexico.

As a fan of the lone star team it was the option he wanted. He will join after a great performance on the International Pathway Program, in which he participated in Florida in recent months.

Alarcón recently mentioned that he hopes to be part of the team and thus be an example to other players that the NFL can be reached.

If I can get into the NFL, I think everyone will start to think that it’s possible, that Mexico can play in the big leagues too,” he said in a video posted by NFL Mexico.

Borregos Monterrey Head Coach Carlos Altamirano noted that Isaac has always fought to fulfill his dream.

That’s one of his great strengths. He doesn’t sit around. He searches and fights for what he wants. That’s the hunger that he’s always shown,” he explained.

The Dallas Cowboys, valued at $5 billion dollars, are the most valuable sports team in the world, according to Forbes magazine. They have won five Super Bowls, the last one back in 1995.

In addition to Alarcón, Germany’s David Bada, Australia’s Matt Leo, and Austria’s Sandro Platzgummer will join the Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants respectively as part of the NFL’s international program.
