This year, Tecnológico de Monterrey will celebrate 50 years of presence in Mexico City with various academic, cultural, and sporting celebrations on the Santa Fe, State of Mexico, and Mexico City campuses.
Paulina Campos, Vice President of the Tec’s campuses in Mexico City, pointed out the Tec’s ongoing presence in the capital, its ties with the government, businesses, and society, and its academic, social, and cultural impact, which extends from the capital to the international stage.
She also highlighted that this commemoration is not only an exercise in historical memory but also an opportunity to strengthen its role as an active participant in public debate and in developing solutions to major urban challenges.
“Universities don’t just train talent; we also produce knowledge, generate evidence, and have an active responsibility in building better cities”.
Although Tec's presence in Mexico City dates back to 1973 when it offered graduate programs in Administration, it was in 1976 that the State of Mexico campus (CEM) was inaugurated, reaching 50 years of continuous presence in 2026.
An agenda that aims to contribute to Mexico City
This anniversary will be marked by an agenda structured around two strategic areas:

“Celebrating this anniversary also means committing ourselves to what lies ahead: helping Mexico City become more livable, more equitable, and better prepared for the future”, added Paulina Campos.
