How enterprising! Tec gains 8th place in The Princeton Review ranking

 Tecnológico de Monterrey moved up 2 places from last year and ranks 8th in the entrepreneurial universities ranking of The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine.

This is the fifth consecutive year that the Tec has remained in the first 25 places, and the second year it’s been in the top 10. It’s the only university from outside the United States on this list.

“This result is due to our efforts to produce more entrepreneurs who provide solutions to the world’s challenges in a timely manner,” said Salvador Alva, President of Tec de Monterrey.

“We’re convinced that entrepreneurship is the engine driving the prosperity of today’s society, which is determined by those with the best talent,” he said.

David Garza, Rector of Tec de Monterrey, maintains that the ranking achieved is due to efforts in the area of entrepreneurship.

“Since our foundation, we’ve encouraged entrepreneurship at the Tec, as a catalyst for development, which is part of our DNA,” said the rector.

The evaluation included aspects such as academic programs, activities within an entrepreneurial ecosystem, and scores for teachers and students involved in this area.

According to the ranking, these are the Top 10 universities with entrepreneurial programs:

1. University of Houston
2. Babson College
3. Brigham Young University
4. University of Michigan
5. Baylor University
6. Washington University in St. Louis
7. University of Maryland
8. Tecnológico de Monterrey
9. Northeastern University
10. North Carolina State University

PROGRESS IN RANKING

The Princeton Review: Top Schools for Entrepreneurship Ranking is one of the most prestigious rankings in the United States, according to the Universities in the USA site.

The Tec has figured in the ranking since 2016, being 23rd in the first year, then 17th, then 14th and last year entering the Top 10 list.

It’s the fifth consecutive year that the Tec has remained in the first 25 places and the second among the 10 best educational institutions at undergraduate level.
 

ENTREPRENEURIAL ECOSYSTEM

Tecnológico de Monterrey has placed emphasis on its students developing an entrepreneurial spirit.

Academic programs, as well as business incubators and accelerators, provide tools for young people to realize their business projects.

Through the Eugenio Garza Lagüera Entrepreneurship Institute, it seeks to consolidate an innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem among members of the Tec Community.

One of the Institute’s most important initiatives is the INCmty entrepreneurship festival, the largest in Latin America, which provides the opportunity for meeting entrepreneurs and investors from the region.
