Tec de Monterrey is #1 in employability in Mexico and #40 in the world

Tec de Monterrey graduates are the most sought after among potential employers in Mexico and come in at number 40 among alumni from universities all over the world.

These results come from the Graduate Employability Rankings 2020 published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) this week.

The Tec moved up twelve world places with respect to its previous ranking, and in Mexico held onto its number one spot for the fifth year in a row.

In Latin America, the Tec is in second place. In the Top 5, there are two other universities that also belong to the so-called “Triad”, along with UNAM.

1.- Pontificia Universidad Católica, Chile (belongs to the Triad)

2.- Tecnológico de Monterrey (belongs to the Triad)

3.- National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM)

4.- Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia (belongs to the Triad)

5.- Universidad de Chile

The Tec holds 40th place in the world and is number 1 in Mexico in employability

Part of this positive result for the Tec is thanks to the work of its on-campus Life and Career Centers, which coordinate the graduate employability strategy.
 

The ranking methodology used evaluated 5 criteria:

• Employer reputation
• Alumni outcomes
• Employer/Student Connections
• Partnerships with Employers per Faculty
• Graduate employment rate

Metrics where Tec de Monterrey scored very highly are as follows:

Employer/Student Connections: with a score of 97.6, this is the Tec de Monterrey metric with the highest evaluation, which gave it a world ranking of 23.

Graduate employment rate: the Tec de Monterrey has a score of 96.5 for this metric and a world ranking of 29.

Alumni outcomes: the institution recorded a score of 90.6 and a world ranking of 36 for this metric.

Employer reputation: the institution rose 5 places, moving up from number 60 to 55 in the world with a score of 80.2.

Since 2016, this ranking has measured the employability of graduates with undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from the best universities in the world.

This time around, 758 educational institutions in 81 countries were evaluated, of which 501 were published.

For 2020, the responses of almost 45,000 employers were assessed and 29,000 influential graduates were mapped.
